Yupdates is owned and operated by Reed Bend Software, Inc., a U.S. corporation founded in 2021 by Tim Freeman.

Reed Bend is bootstrapped, and we believe charging for subscriptions is the best path to sustainable growth.

It means "you aren't the product," and the company and customers' interests are aligned long-term. We don't sell data or believe in maneuvering people into awkward/dark patterns. It also means that scaling needs are covered by revenue: a significant part of your subscription goes towards our well-provisioned server fleet, cache clusters, and databases.

Reed Bend is also a solo effort (so far!). An important part of sustainable growth is the ability to pay our employees directly from revenue, and we aren't able to cover that next step yet.
